Three months after the version Jansenism and refined of Stéphane Braunschweig to Hill ("Les Echos" from November 19, 2009), the "Doll House" magazine by Michel Fau, with Audrey Tautou in the role of Nora, at the Théâtre de la Madeleine, offers a striking contrast. The fetish actor of Olivier Py took the Party of Expressionism and the oneirism, to emphasize the "funny and frightening" side of the drama of Ibsen. A bet inflated, but interesting.
Michel Fau has not sought to "Refresh" exhibit. Set and costume design refer to the Norway of the end of the 19th century. It does not exhibit dated so far. However in the context of the time, the "crime" of Nora - a false write borrow money and to save her husband - and his decision to leave the matrimonial home by the end were a scandal more full-bodied fragrance. In addition, the aesthetic of the show is nothing naturalist: it would in a fantastic film, a nightmare Norway. Hélène (Flore Boixel), good, has the air of a living death and two children, when they appear with their pale face (while they are supposed to have coloured cold cheek) of two small ghosts. References to tales abound: Nora plays the donkey with bear skin skin, its offspring disguise themselves with Wolf masks... The decor, signed Bernard Fau (brother of Director), evil ' mix' between Matthias Langhoff and Disney, is confusing to the malaise. A real doll, size "adult" House is recreated on the small stage of the Madeleine.

A tragic fantasy
The doll is Audrey Tautou. It is on purpose that we have not touched for at the outset its performance. Because the show is not a show Tautou. Film actress, for her first step on the plates, flows with great humility in Michel Fau project. Its distribution is difficult, it plays it perfectly. Puppet cutthroat, rigid in a blue dress with Ruffles, speaking at full speed with a forced gaiety and moving with jerky gestures - such the Olympia of Hoffmann "Tales" - it breaks suddenly his sons, when his small world collapses; and became little by little women free in white dress - devastated but worthy, who decides to start her life from scratch. Some placement of voice problems, a little too bright flow sometimes did not alter his delivery. Presence, mystery, interiority, beauty... At his first trial, Audrey Tautou is becoming a rare theatre actress. Michel Fau camped with a whimsical irresistible tragic Torvalds, husband macho, naive, Nice, but coward - a "nounours" threatening, like the skin before the fireplace, laughing and shaking... Pascal Elso is a Dr. Rank punchy, sober and happily desperate. The couple Sissi Duparc (Ms. Linde) and Nicolas Woirion (Krogsatd), both horrific and grotesque, happily playing the card of the offset.
As a dream of a winter's night, which it rises abruptly, the "Doll House" revisited by Michel Fau ends on a cry of pain: love is impossible in a society of men, dummy, narrow and mean-spirited. Even freedom has a taste of ash for Nora, who share without illusion to an uncertain future and Torvalds, solitary and broken, which calls its wishes without believing "the greatest of miracles".
